After the Biden-Trump debate, I did what everyone else did and went online looking for memes.
I found many, and I also found people complaining neither of them had mentioned crypto.
I’m sorry, but why and how is that a surprise?
I’m going to try and steer clear of politics, so I’m not gonna say what’s already been said about Trump’s and Biden’s performances.
But I’m gonna say what follows.
Four years ago, the last debate, there were wars, but there were wars people sort of didn’t notice. It sounds bad but that’s the way it was.
Four years later, there are two major wars in two extremely significant locations in the world, that involve several countries, some of them nuclear powers.
And there are tensions that aren’t wars yet.
Now, those same tensions existed four years ago, but they are now 10 times more fiery.
Four years ago, inflation was more or less under control, and the US wasn’t in the same place it is. I don’t live in the US, but if you do, and I think I speak on behalf of the rest of the world, I can assure you, from the outside, it looks like the US has completely and totally lost its mind.
One of the comments I found under one of the YouTube videos says it all.
It read: “I’m 35 years old. Between when I was a kid and now, so that’s less than two generations, the US went from being everyone’s dream to a dystopian nightmare.”
So with that in mind, even I, as a hardcore crypto ‘bro’, struggle to see why anyone would think crypto should be a priority in the debate.
And, once again, crypto does not need political validation. If I can pick between politicians that are PRO crypto or politicians that are ANTI crypto, I’m obviously gonna go with the PRO crypto people. It goes without saying, but it doesn’t change what’s gonna happen in the long run.
Crypto will prevail. It’s inevitable. Because it’s a better version of the system that preceded it. And because it’s technology, and technology, for better or worse, can never be stopped.
So, under the circumstances, the fact that Biden and Trump didn’t mention crypto is not particularly shocking.
There are clearly other major issues at hand.
