As per usual, Google is telling us what we truly need to know about crypto – right now

Good news.

Both at my previous company and my current company we’d keep an eye on Google search trends pretty much perpetually. Google tells you what people are doing, and where, and why.

Google search trends are as close as you can get to predicting the future. What’s gonna happen next.

For us crypto ‘bros’, this means keeping an eye on Google for anything that we might need to know about what’s going on in the crypto world. Or ‘crypto space’, as people sometimes call it.

The thing is, in May, Google search interest for for the term ‘onchain’ peaked, reaching an all-time high.

Why does it matter? Because it means people want to know what ‘onchain’, or perhaps ‘on chain’, or even better ‘on-chain’, means.

CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju believes the ‘learning phase’ is over.

I don’t agree with that. I think the learning phase won’t be over for another 5 or 10 or 15 years. But I agree in principle.

As in, people are now aware crypto exist, and they’re learning about the various details and nuances.

What’s gonna happen next? No one knows. But we can guess.

And my guess is, we’re now In the phase where people think crypto is a thing. And it’s here to stay.
