Apple AirPods Max V2 to (likely) debut with two major changes

Did anyone say USB-C?

Apple AirPods Max is one of the oldest products in the line-up. They originally launched in late 2020 and Apple never upgraded them.

They also didn’t much to the price either. In the EU, they still retail for €579, whereas in the US, the price was still north $500 until last week, when they become available for $450 from various retailers, but I should point out they still go for $549 on Apple’s website.

Rumour has it Apple will finally unveil the new AirPods Max 2 later this year, and everyone’s expecting two things.

First, Apple is gradually phasing out the Lightning connector, replacing it with USB-C across the board. The new AirPods will no doubt be fitted with USB-C only.

The second major change may involve a complete redesign of the smart case. The weird cherry-shaped smart case was one of the most common criticisms for the AirPods.

The new headphones may come with an upgraded smart case but, knowing Apple, I wouldn’t be surprised if they stuck with it in terms of overall design and shape.

The price, unfortunately, will probably remain unchanged.
