Justin Sun is the creator of the cryptocurrency Tron (TRX).
He’s famously a little strange, a little bombastic, outspoken and very, very rich.
When the news of Telegram’s Pavel Durov’s arrest broke, Justin Sun immediately did the thing he always does: promise to donate money for the cause.
This, apparently is his default answer to anything and everything.
There’s a viral tweet about Sun that reads:
“Anything happens anywhere Justin Sun: ‘I have a lot of money and now I’m a part of this conversation’.”
It seems Sun’s default response to just about anything is “I care about this, and I will donate XY amount [because I’m rich]”. It’s kinda funny. And it’s funny because it’s true.
For his latest stunt, Sun apparently spent $6 million for a famous ‘artwork’ which only consists of a banana taped to a wall, and now apparently he wants to eat that banana.
I think spending $6 million for a banana is a wild, but whatever. It is at least a stunt and it means he isn’t taking his ‘work of art’ particularly seriously.
And I agree with that. Because I think anybody who thinks a banana taped to a wall is a work of art is an idiot. Sorry.
