During a recent speech, every crypto bro’s favourite character, Gary Gensler, spoke about his time and his ‘accomplishments’ at the SEC.
He used the past tense throughout the speech.
“I’ve been proud to serve,” he said.
“It’s been a great honor to serve with them,” he added while talking about his colleagues.
Republicans probably don’t like Gensler because he’s aligned with Democrats.
Crypto people, presumably even democrats, don’t like Gensler because he’s done everything in his power to hinder the crypto market.
And he hasn’t been transparent about it, either. Remember that hearing where he refused to say whether ETH was a security or not for about an hour?
You can find it on YouTube. They asked him, more than one senator, whether ETH was a security, “it’s a yes or no question”, and he never, not even once, responded.
Word salad city for him too.
Trump said he’d fire Gensler on day one.
He doesn’t have the power to do that, but he does have the power to gently escort him to the door and tell him it’s better to walk away without being forced to do so.
He’ll be gone soon, and hopefully the next Chair will be better.
It won’t take much. We don’t really need special treatment to be honest. Leave us alone, that’ll be enough.
