Remember Hamster Kombat? Well, people are already forgetting about it

Honestly, are we shocked?

Hamster Kombat, the ultra-hyped, record-breaking in-app game on Telegram, is already sort of dying out.

Hamster Kombat lost 86 percent of its users already. It had 300 million users in August, and now there are only 41 million active users.

It’s still a lot of people, but down significantly.

This, in my view, was completely inevitable.

People play certain video games because of fidelity. They love those games. And it has nothing to do with it being a new game, there are several new games that became iconic – Death Stranding springs to mind.

The truth is, most people got on board with Hamster Kombat because of the rumoured airdrop, and those that didn’t still have very limited attention span.

I still think gaming is a good use case for NFTs and blockchain technology, but clearly we need more.

And by the way, there’s already a substitute.

It’s called Paws, and it already has one million followers on X and 10 million wallets connected to it.
