Vitalik Buterin, as it turns out, does receive a salary, or a stipend as Jonny Lee Miller’s version of Sherlock Holmes would put it, at Ethereum.
Vitalik is paid by the Ethereum Foundation for his work as a developer, and his salary is surprisingly… boring.
It’s not $1, like the symbolic salary of those CEOs who make one dollar per year but then get compensated with $258 million worth of stock options and private jet flights.
But it’s not millions either.
Vitalik apparently receives a salary of around $126,000 per year, which is more or less bang on average for developers, whose yearly salary ranges between $120,000 and $140,000 in the US.
Vitalik is of course a billionaire, but ‘only’ because nearly 100 percent of his wealth is in Ethereum.
The more you know.
