A key crypto guy you’ve never heard of is moving from an extremely well-known company to an even more famous company – and here’s why it’s a big deal

One of those behind-the-scenes event that matter.

This is one of those behind-the-scenes things that happen all the time in corporate industry. Kinda like the Brian Niccol story.

You’ve never heard of Brian Niccol, but you’ve probably heard of Chipotle, and you’ve definitely heard of Starbucks.

Well, Niccol has left Chipotle and joined Starbucks.

An analogue thing has just happened in the crypto world.

You’ve (probably) never heard of Jeff Nicholas but he was the creative director at Yuga Labs, which is the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs.

So you’ve probably heard of that, and you’ve definitely heard of Meta, ie Facebook.

Nicholas is set to start working at Meta, specifically Meta Reality Labs, in September.

He’ll serve as Meta’s ‘Executive mixed reality producer for entertainment experiences’.

Meta is apparently going through a bit of an identity crisis. It was all about the Metaverse, but the company has been losing money hand over first on Web3, and so now they’re also focusing on AI.

But this move is interesting, it means Meta hasn’t given up on Web3 just yet.
