random airdrops, random airdrops everywhere

Now what are those?

Solana used to be the king of airdrops, the go-to ecosystem for that sort of thing, but that’s changing.

In the last few months, I’ve been receiving minuscule airdrops on just about any chain, and I generally don’t know where they’re from.

The latest two, as in the last two I noticed, are on Base, ie, Coinbase’s blockchain.

I opened my Coinbase Wallet and noticed airdrops I’d never seen before.

I only use Coinbase Wallet for the quests to get free crypto, and I generally never sell anything, but I do swap the ones I don’t like/know/trust/care for for Ethereum, which explains why in my Wallet I got, apart from Avax and USDC, Ethereum on four different chains.

And now, these two.

One of them is called RigoBlock (GRG), while the other is OX Coin (OX).

What are they? No idea.

According to CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap, “OX Coin is used as collateral” and it is “a token for tokenisation” and “you can earn up to 200% APY yield on OX Coin”.

Sure.

As for GRG, per their website, it is an “incentive system [that] allows the token pools to be operated without direct fee charges, and aligns the interests of the different stakeholders”.

Sure.

The airdrops, put together, were just enough for maybe a cup of coffee, so I simply swapped them both for Ethereum on Base.

Hopefully, when the value of ETH goes up, that’s going to be enough for beer, or wine or, one day, champagne.
