Elon Musk is under fire again, this time for the way his social network X uses data to train Grok, which is X.Ai’s AI assistant.
In simple terms, it appears that data gathered from X is automatically siphoned away from X and to X.Ai to train Grok.
You can opt out from this in settings, but it is apparently ‘ON’ by default.
This complaint is justified, but far from a one-off.
Several YouTubers are complaining about the very same thing, and they’re saying that Google is using their videos’ transcript without their consent to train Google’s own AI assistant.
The problem is just about any major tech company you can think of is doing this.
So yeah, huge tech companies mismanaging our data.
What else is new?
