In a long conversation with Jordan Peterson on the DailyWire+, Elon Musk talked about Tesla, SpaceX, ‘wokeness’ and of course AI.
Musk says his team put together the data centre for X.AI [Musk’s AI company, ed.] in 19 days, which is “faster than anyone else ever”, he said.
Musk further added that Grok is closer to ChatGPT now, and it’s catching up fast.
Elon Musk, lest we forget, had an executive role at OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, before leaving due to disagreements with OpenAI current CEO Sam Altman.
And Musk once more reiterated that AI is coming whether we want it, or like it, or not, and there’s nothing we can do about it.
“It’s coming, whether we want it or not. So it’s better to be in it, rather than to be a spectactor,” Musk said.
“[Also because] you have a better chance of improving the outcome from the inside.”
Musk has often quoted studies that estimate the probability of a Terminator Skynet-style event between 5 and 20 percent.
I personally think Ai will inevitably become a problem, whichever way you cut it.
We’ll see.
