I’m supposed to be able to withdraw funds from my BlockFi account. But I’m not sure how. And I’m not sure how because, since the whole FTX saga started, and therefore since BlockFi went belly up, I’ve received dozens of emails every week, every single week, most of which were phishing emails.
This is because Kroll, the firm that’s handling the bankruptcies both of FTX and BlockFi, was hacked and data was leaked.
I’m 100 percent blaming Kroll, because they should’ve been careful, but that only relates to this case. What about every other instance? Of which there are many.
The point is I, and other people, have to operate on the assumption that every single email I get is a phishing email and so I ignore them. It’s too risky not to. It’s not worth it.
Earlier today I got an email from the company that runs one of the world’s most popular hardware wallets. I also ignored it and didn’t click on any link.
This is becoming a pain in the a*s.
So what to do? I don’t know. No one knows. But it’s a serious issue, and it is especially serious because I think it’s not being talked about enough.
