I asked AI to predict the price of Solana, Ethereum and Bitcoin in 10 years – And the answer surprised me

What an amazingly… generic answer.

I recently bought the new Nothing Phone. It hasn’t been delivered yet but Nothing did tell me early buyers of the phone get a free one-year PRO subscription with Perplexity.AI, yet another AI-powered chatbot / search engine.

It works relatively well, considering I got it free. But I’m still not sure I’d be happy if I’d paid the $200 a one-year subscription requires. I should probably point that a free subscription is also available.

Anyway, the first thing I did was I asked Perplexity to predict the price of Solana, Ethereum and Bitcoin in 2034, so ten years from now.

The answer was, to be honest, not worth $200.

What Perplexity does, in essence, is elaborating some sort of coherent reasoning by analysing what the internet has to say about it.

It took five sources, and elaborated a conclusion based on those reports.

According to Perplexity, Solana will rise significantly, with “forecasts ranging from $260 to potentially $1,000 by 2030”.

This part seems accurate, if a bit generic.

But it totally missed my instruction to predict the price ten years from now, not by 2030.

But whatever.

Regarding Bitcoin, the AI tool says it will reach $250,000 “or even higher” in the “coming years”.

Again, no reference to my exact instruction, 2034, but I guess it’s understandable.

As for Ethereum, the AI software totally ignored me, basically.

“Ethereum is expected to maintain its strong performance,” Perplexity said.

That’s all.

No price point and no further details.

All in all, this software is like a PR agency, at least when it comes to this particular thread.

As in, it gives vague details, it kept it very generic and loose, and, more importantly, it said a lot without actually saying nothing.

I found that interesting.
