Earlier today I got an email from Nexo.
“Bitcoin is money. Bitcoin is culture. Bitcoin is technology. It’s high time we get a Bitcoin Emoji,” the email read.
“We have joined forces with 25+ leading crypto organizations for a historic cause: ‘Bitcoin Deserves an Emoji’ to bring Bitcoin to digital keyboards worldwide, celebrating its cultural and technological impact on our daily lives.”
According to the email, 92 percent of internet users use emoji, which is an interesting piece of trivia. Like, how do they establish that? But whatever, that’s beside the point.
The point is, Nexo came up with a petition to give ₿ a proper emoji.
The petition was started by Nexo, and co-signed by BTC Inc, Brink, Bitget, Chainalysis, Polygon, Brave, Hacken, CryptoQuant, Nansen, Unstoppable Domains, Liquity, Mara, Busha, Zulu, Cadenza, Bware Labs, Meta4 Capital, Sift, MarketAcross, Bitcompare, Bithomp, Milkroad, Crypto Oasis and more.
The goal is to get to 1.35 million signatures by April 22, 2024.
For what it’s worth, I signed the petition.
