Last 24 hours (less, now) to get the Solana Saga Chapter Two at $450.
After that, the price will go up, probably to $600 – but this is just MY own opinion and estimation.
I’m still on the fence, I don’t know if I should get it or not, and these are 3 reasons why you should, and 3 why you shouldn’t.
Why you should, or rather, why I’m considering it
- These days, $450 is a good deal for a phone. Long gone are the days when the iPhone was the most expensive phone on the market with a $499 price tag. These days, there are so smartphones that cost $1,000+ or even $2,000+ so $450 is actually a good deal
- It’ll presumably be better than the first Saga
- It’ll give you access to potential airdrops
Why you shouldn’t, and why I’m still thinking about it
- As a phone, the Saga was underwhelming, it was literally just another Android phone, which means it’s probably not better than your current Android if you’re on Android, and it’s definitely nowhere near as good as your iPhone
- Deliveries are expected in 2025. Some people think it’s okay, but I don’t like paying now for something that I am ‘expected’ to receive maybe a year from now
The third reason is complex.
- Hype is always the enemy.
The lovely people at Solana Labs are 100 percent fully aware of why the Saga was a success.
And it was just because people accidentally found out it was packed with airdrops.
And this, remember, was not known or talked about at the launch. It only became known later.
So now what I’m thinking is they’re using this hype to deliver the second Saga, which is probably going to be better as a phone, but will probably disappoint in terms of airdrops included.
This is because our expectations are way too high.
All in all, I’ll probably wait till it actually drops and, if the price is right, I’ll just buy it used. If not, the airdrops included will no doubt be spoiled and I’ll just buy the token if I think it’s worth it.
