One of many reasons why I use is Brave is the ads free experience.
More to the point, using Brave means I can watch YouTube with zero (literally) ads.
It worked smoothly for about two years and then, a couple of months ago, YouTube started telling me, “yo, we know you’re using an ad blocker, stop that or we’re gonna punch you in the face”.
Obviously, that’s not what the pop up message said, but that was the gist of it.
After a few days, during which the pop up wouldn’t go away and my YouTube tab kept being blocked, I caved in and enabled ads for the Brave tab where I keep YouTube open.
Then, the other day, I was like, you know what, let’s disable ads again and see what happens.
The answer is, nothing happened. For now at least.
So there ya go. Brave and I took on an internet giant and won the battle. Probably not the war. But you gotta take wins where and when you can.
